Většina lidí plánuje dovolenou několik měsíců, týdnu nebo alespoň
dnů dopředu. U nás doma je to jinak. Každý rok se alespoň půl roku dohadujeme o tom, kam a jestli vůbec někam v létě pojedeme, ale konečně rozhodnutí padne většinou téměř večer před odjezdem. A probíhá to asi takhle – dohadujeme se, jestli pojedeme někam na hory (kam chce táta), k moři (kam chci já a máma) a nebo zůstaneme doma (a budeme se válet u počítače, což by vyhovovalo bráchovi). Potom během chvíle zvažujeme Chorvatsko, Ukrajinu, Itálii, balíme kufry na cestu do Polska a když se táta začne zjišťovat, jestli to Albánie potřebuje mezinárodní řidičák, zjišťujeme, že jedeme na dovolenou tisíc kilometrů opačným směrem.
Ale něco na těch “hurá akcích” přece jen je ..
Most of the people plan their summer holiday even months, weeks or at least days before. Our family do it different way. Every year we talk about where and if are we going anywhere at all in summer, but we finally decide usually almost in the evening the day before leaving. And it looks like this – we’re arguin if we’re going to the mountains (where dad wants to go) or somewhere by the sea (where I and mom wants to go) or stay at home (and play videogames, that would be my brother’s favourite solution). Then in few mintues we consider Croatia, Ukraine, Italy, we pack our stuff for holiday in Poland and when dad starts to asking if he needs international driving license, we realize we’re going somewhere thousand kilometres completely in different direction.
But there’s something awesome about these “hurray actions” ..
První část letošní dovolené jsme zahájili víkendem v Praze.
Večer jsme šly já a máma na prohlídku Prahy s Karimem, pořádané agenturou Pragulic. Nevěřili byste, kde všude se nabízí sexuální služby, drogy a kde všude se dá přespat. Provázel nás – momentálně už bývalý – bezdomovec, který si prošel na vlastní kůži světem prostituce, drog a žití na ulici. Prohlídku všem doporučuji, je neskutečně zajímavá, člověk se dozví informace, které jinde nemáte šanci zjistit a celkově pro mě tenhle večer byl velký zážitek. Jen varuji, že po absolvování prohlídky uvidíte Prahu trochu jinýma očima. My s mamkou jsme do konce dovolené tipovaly večer na ulicích, které slečny nabízí své služby, přemýšleli co se děje v podnicích po zavíračce, poučovali jsme tátu s bratrem o typech žebroty a jejich výdělcích a každý druhý člověk byl podle nás automaticky mafián.
The first part of our summer holiday this year was a weekend in Prague. First day in the evening I and mom went to a tour with a homeless, organized by Pragulic agency. You wouldn’t believe on how many places in Prague there are offered sexual services, drugs and where could you sleep at night. Our guide was – currently already “ex” – homeless, who saw the world of prostitution, drug and living in the street on his own. I highly recommend this tour to everyone, it’s very interesting and for me this evening was an amazing experience. I just have to warn you that after this tour, you’ll maybe see the Prague with different eyes. After the end of our vacation I and mom used to guess what girls offer their services in the street, we were thinking about what is happening in the restaurants after opening hours, we taught dad and my brother about types of beggary and its earnings and every second person was certainly a Mafioso for us.

Další den jsme jeli na výlet do Karlových Varů. Nejdřív jsme se jeli podívat na stěně pro které si pojedeme a potom jsme vyrazili okouknout karlovarské prameny. Upřímně stále nechápu, co na nich lidé vidí – teplá voda co páchne po zkažených vajíčkách. Mňam.
Next day we went to Karlovy Vary. First we went to see our puppy we are going to get and then we went to see the headwaters. I honestly still don’t get whz people are so interested in these – it’s just warm water that smells like rotten eggs. Yum.
Hlavní kolonáda a původní architektura Karlových Varů a ve městě po festivalu vládne klidná a příjemná atmosféra, ale přesto nás vyděsily dvě věci:
1) hlavním jazykem je tu ruština, takže pokud neovládáte azbuku, nerozluštíte skoro ani nadpisy na stánku s lázeňskými oplatky
2) přestože letos proběhl už 50. ročník mezinárodního filmového festivalu, kterého se účastnily hvězdy jako Richard Geere, hotel Thermal vypadá zvenku ošuntěle a pořád jako typická komunistická stavba snad ještě s původním nátěrem. V době festivalu červený koberec zakryl alespoň cestu zalátanou asfaltem.
The main colonnade and the original architecture in Karlovy Vary beautiful and after the festival, there is calm and nice atmosphere, however there were two things which scared us:
1) The main language is russian, so if you’re not able to read azbuka, you may not be able to read the signs on kiosks with spa waffers.
2) Altough this year, it was already the 50th year of international film festival, that was visited by stars like Richard Geere, the Thermal hotel looks really ugly and shabby from the outside and it looks like typical comunistic buliding – maybe still with the original coating. In the time of the festival, the red carpet covered the asphalt patched pavement at least.

Večer jsme se vrátili do Prahy, prošli jsme se po Karlově mostě, Václaváku a po nábřeží. Všude z restaurací byla slyšet živá hudba, po ulicích se přicházelo obrovské množství různých typů lidí různých národností.. Praha má prostě své kouzlo. Kdybych náhodou v budoucnu mela skončit v Česku (což s největší pravděpodobností nemám v plánu), určitě bych chtěla žít v Praze. Dřív jsme jezdili do Prahy aspoň na pár dni téměř každé prázdniny, ale celá ta atmosféra starého města a všechny ty obchody s jídlem, oblečením a to množství Starbucksů… mě snad nikdy neomrzí.
In the evening we came back to Prague, visited the Charles bridge, Wenceslas Square and walked by the embankment. We heard live music all around, there were so many different types of people from different countries on the street .. Prague has its magic. If I was supposed to live in Czech Republic in the future (I don’t want it at all), I’d love to live in Prague. We used to go to Prague almost every holiday when I was younger, but I still don’t have enough – the whole atmosphere of the old city, food and clothes shops, and so many Starbucks cafés … I just love it.
