Knížka je rozdělena na tři jednotlivé příběhy, každý napsaný jiným autorem. Celý děj se odehrává v období Vánoc v městečku Gracetown a životní příběhy hlavních postav se v jednotlivých příbězích postupně proplétají a vysvětlují. Jubilee, hrdinka prvního příběhu, odjíždí na Vánoce k prarodičům. Cestou na Floridu ale její vlak uvízne v závěji a cestující se rozhodnou jít ohřát do nedalekého Waffle House. Tam Jubilee potkává Stuarta, který jí nabídne nocleh .. a taky trochu vánoční romantiky.
V druhé povídce se tři kamarádi snaží dostat co nejrychleji do Waffle House, kde kromě Jubilee z vlaku vystoupila taky skupina roztleskávaček.
Knížku zakončuje příběh Addie, která na párty podvedla svého přítele a snaží se svou hroznou chybu napravit …
The book is divided to three separate stories, written by different authors. The entire story takes place during Christmas holiday in Gracetown. The main characters of each story appear in the other stories too, their life stories are tangled are gradually explained. Jubilee, the heroine of the first story is going on holiday to her grandparents. But on her way to Florida, the train stuck in a snowdrift and the passengers decide to go to near Waffle House. Here, Jubilee meets Stuart who offers here a place to stay .. plus a bit of the Christmas romance.
In the second story, three friends are trying to get to the same Waffle House, where not only Jubilee but also a group of cheerleaders stay.
The book is closed by a story of Addie who cheated on her boyfriend on a party and she tries to take back her awful fault …
Sněží sněží nemá nijak zvlášť hluboké myšlenky, komplikovaný děj ani to není kniha plná napětí. Ale i tak je krásná. Příběhy jsou romantické, milé, veselé a všechny končí happy endem. Mě osobně se líbil nejvíc první příběh, Zasněžený Expres, což mě překvapilo, protože jsem se nejvíc těšila (jak jinak) na povídku od Johna Greena.
Knížku bych popsala asi takto – když jsem se o Vánocích válela v posteli s horkým čajem v novém hrníčku, vedle mě svítila vánoční světýlka a na stole se válelo cukroví – tato knížka byla přesně to poslední, co chybělo k naprosto dokonalé vánoční atmosféře. No a pokud nejste v tomto tak zásadoví jako já a nevadí vám číst vánoční knížku na konci února (nebo koukat na Lásku nebeskou/Grinche kdykoliv jindy během roku) – určitě doporučuji k přečtení 🙂
Let it snow is doesn’t have a complicated plot, it’s not very thrilling and you won’t find a lot of deep thoughts here neither. But it’s a beautiful book anyway. The stories are nice, romantic, positive and they all have happy end. I liked the first story the most that suprised me, because I was looking forward to the John Green’s story the most.
I’d describe the book this way – when I was wallowing during the Christmas holiday with a cup of hot tea in my new mug, there were colourful lights all around me and there was a plate with Chrismtas treats on the table .. – this book was the last thing I needed to achieve the perfect Christmas atmosphere. And well if you’re not so principled like me in these things and you don’t mind reading a Christmas book at the end of February (or watch Love actually/Grinch during the year) – I recommend you to read it 🙂
